Hivemind II
West Coast IPA • 7.9% ABV
Hivemind II is a WC IPA that’s been dry hopped with a blend of varieties chosen by the people. Shapeshifter’s biggest fans gathered for a day of hop selection at the brewery and the result is this - pine, dank, stone fruit and citrus notes.
ABV: 7.9% IBU: 57
Malt: Pilsner, Gladiator
Hops: Hivemind blend

WTWTA - Maleny
Spon Native Mixed Culture • 6.0% ABV
A spontaneously harvested, native mixed culture 3 years in the making. Hot wort made in Doggett St was raced up to the family farm and laid down in mini koelships in various different plots, directly exposed to the elements. Allowed to cool overnight, samples were collected the next morning and fermented for a few weeks in demijohns. Selecting samples that saw a good fermentation profile and had attractive aromatic attributes, they were scaled up into carbouys. A further round of culling saw a final scale for the best sample up to neutral oak. A 12 month, slow ferment allowed the full expression of the mixed culture. From this 300L batch, a further 12 month scale up was made to 5 x 300L barrels, allowing us to pack this QLD first, and get it into your hands.
Subtle, bread-like, stone fruit and floral esters on the nose, provide a complex array of unique aromatics. Brett and sour bacteria like character is also evident. A tart, zippy finish leaves the overall impression full but refreshing. A dominant sour exotic stone fruit character pervades the experience. Maleny never tasted so funky.

WTWTA - Girraween
Native Ale • 6.5% ABV
Last time we looked at Dan’s wild captured yeast in a 12 month barrel ferment. This time, we’ve gone fully stainless ferment, to allow the subtle yeast characters to really be the hero. A two week primary ferment in this context, allows the yeast to shine without influences from the oak or aging process.
This insanely unique yeast profile really presents like an Australian Saison, with predominant esters of peach, pear and red apple, layered with some stone fruits, and with some very soft peppery phenolics for balance. It drinks full, even though it’s incredibly dry. Familiar but distinct, what a great expression of Australian Wild Beer.

Wild At Heart
Peach Wild Sour • 6.0% ABV
A six month barrel fermented Flanders inspired Golden Sour was blended with young Belgian Blond and re-fermented on fresh peach juice. Seeking that balance of a true Flanders, where fruit driven sweetness combines with puckering acetic driven acidity.
Delicate peach aromatics combine with a Brettanomyces bruxellensis funk and Acetobacter sourness. A gentle honey treacle mid palate softens the complex sourness, providing a balanced drinkability.
